The Academy of US Veterans Awards DVEN the 2022 Leadership Award
We are extremely proud to have been awarded the Academy of United States Veterans (AUSV) 2022 Leadership Award at the Academy’s 7th Annual Vettys awards ceremony, held last Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the M Resort in Las Vegas.
The Veterans Awards, also known as the Vettys, is an annual award program presented by the Academy of United States Veterans to recognize and honor members of the veteran community in the United States for outstanding work in support of America’s veteran community.
On behalf of our great staff and volunteers at DVEN, I was honored to be selected for the 2022 Leadership Award from among many outstanding non-profit organizations supporting veteran mental health.
We are particularly proud of our Rally4Vets motorsports program that supports free service dogs for veterans dealing with PTSD. Our volunteer team deserves all of the credit. A huge “thank you” to each and every one of them.
What a thrill to have my award presented by BG Martin Schweitzer. I served under his father, LTG Robert Schweitzer, when he commanded the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Fulda, Germany. What a small world!
If you aren’t aware of the Academy of United States Veterans, please visit their website and consider becoming a member. It’s a great organization and they are doing important work for the veteran community.
And, don’t forget about our 2022 event at Summit Point Raceway in October:
