If you are severely disabled or unable to work in traditional employment, you can receive assistance to start a business or independent living services.

2. VA’s Compensated Work Therapy (CWT)

CWT is a national vocational program that helps homeless Veterans return to competitive employment. These programs include the Sheltered Workshop, Transitional Work, and Supported Employment programs.

3. American Job Centers

4. The Women Veterans site at the U.S. Department of Labor

Find the most up-to-date information on women veterans in the workforce here through this website and their webinars. This program ensures that the Department of Labor Vets program serves women veterans and male veterans equitably.

5. Dress for Success

Dress for Success empowers disadvantaged women across the globe with professional clothing, and support and career development tools that help women achieve economic independence to thrive in work and life.

6. National Veterans Foundation Job Board

The National Veterans Foundation Job Board helps employ veterans. The Job Board lists jobs across the country by companies interested in hiring veterans.

7. Work for Warriors (Guard and Reserve)

The Work for Warriors program is a free job-placement program in California. This non-profit organization assists veterans find the career that they’re searching for. Their veteran staffing consultants help guide veterans through the hiring process, and they offer free training in security, IT, heavy equipment operation, and employment readiness.

8. Small Business (SBA Veteran & Disabled Veterans)

The SBA offers support for veterans as they enter the world of business ownership. This website offers more information on funding programs, training, and federal contracting opportunities for veterans.

9. Recruit Military

RecruitMilitary connects employers with high-quality veteran talent.  RecruitMilitary contains the largest database of over 1,000,000 veteran service members for companies looking to hire veterans. They also publish job and continuing education opportunities through their magazine, Search & Employ®, and host over 100 veteran job fairs per year.

10. GI Jobs

G.I. Jobs helps veterans find jobs, schools, entrepreneurship, and transition resources through their searchable database.  They provide veterans with specific, how-to advice on everything from choosing a college to writing a resume and interviewing.
