DVEN’s Bicycling Program

Bicycling Reduces Stress

Bicycling is a popular form of exercise that has numerous health benefits.  One of the most significant benefits of bicycling is its ability to reduce stress.

Stress is a natural response to challenging situations.  But chronic stress can have negative effects on the body and mind.  Exercise has been shown to be an effective way to reduce stress levels. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins, which are natural chemicals that improve mood and reduce stress.

Bicycling is a particularly effective form of exercise for stress reduction because it combines physical activity with the outdoors.  Being in nature has been shown to have a calming effect on the mind and body, which can further reduce stress levels.

Bicycling is a low-impact exercise that is easy on the joints and can be done at any fitness level.  It is also a form of exercise that can be done alone or with others, making it a great way to socialize while reducing stress.

DVEN has several veteran-focused cycling programs:

  1. We have a virtual cycling group on Strava.com where veterans share their rides and statistic.  Members are riding outsie and logging their rides on Strava.  Click the following link and check us out: VetsRidingForVets
  2. Another tool we use is Zwift.com, which is an indoor virtual cycling platform.  We used this a lot during the COVID-19 period.  We aren’t scheduling routine meetups on Zwift at the moment but we are looking for ambassadors who would like to lead weekly meetups.  Check out Zwift at this link: Zwift.com
