Rally4Vets Motorsports Program

The DVEN Rally4Vets motorsports program provides a way for the motorsports enthusiast community to support the disabled veteran community and play an active role in reducing the annual veteran suicide toll.

Ending veteran suicide has to be a team effort.  In 2021, The American Legion launched its “Be The One” campaign to reduce veteran suicide, challenging every Legionnaire to find a way to “Be The One.”  DVEN’s founder, Robert Hess, is an American Legion Life Member and accepted that challenge.  The result is the Rally4Vets motorsports program.

Rally4Vets has something for everyone, from die-hard gearheads and racers to people who simply love to take a weekend drive.  Our programs include trackcross – essentially autocross on a racetrack, road rallies, and car meetups.

Cars and Camo [the Military Version of Cars and Coffee]

The Cars and Coffee phenomenon extends to every corner of our wonderful country.  America on Wheels has created a nationwide catalog of events with more being added almost weekly.  Not to be left out, we’ve created a Cars and Camo program for veterans and enthusiasts who want to support our veteran community.

We held our first event at the USS Iowa battleship in Los Angeles harbor and our second event was at the National Museum of the United States Army near Ft. Belvoir, Virginia.  Watch our events calendar for the date and time or visit our Cars and Camo Facebook page.

Relaxing Road Rallies

If relaxing, fun drives through the countryside paired with unique cafes are more your style, we have a program just for you.  We use the Roadstr.io platform to create weekend drives.  Roadstr.io is free to join.  Once you’re logged in, just search for the Rally4Vets group.  Our first rally traversed Skyline Drive just west of Washington, DC, ending at Patty O’s Cafe near the Inn at Little Washington for brunch.  It rained and misted that day but the drive along Skyline Drive was just mystical.  The forest is just as enchanting in the rain as it is when dappled in sunlight.  The sidebar has a shot of our NC Miata that day.

The “Be The One” Road Rally

In support of the American Legion’s “Be The One” veteran suicide prevention program, DVEN drove two of our public awareness cars from Los Angeles to Washington, DC, departing American Legion Post 291 in Newport Beach, California on August 23, 2023.  Click the following link to see a video highlights of the rally: 2023 Rally4Vets “Be The One” road rally.

This is an annual summer event so check www.rally4vets.com/events for details and join us on the adventure.

Become an Ambassador

Beating veteran suicide must be a team effort.  Many organizations are working on this challenge but it is people on the ground having everyday conversations with veterans in distress that can make the difference.  We believe our Cars and Camo and weekend drives are a very effective way of bringing veterans together and enabling these conversations.

If you are interested in leading a local weekend drive or representing DVEN at a Cars and Coffee event, email us at info @ rally4vets.com.  Subject line: Ambassador.
