Rally4Vets’ Wild Ride from LA to DC: High-Octane Fun with a Heartwarming Mission!
WASHINGTON, DC, August 29, 2023 – Vroom! Vroom! Rally4Vets ended the 2023 “Be The One” Rally in Washington, DC, wrapping up a 10-day, coast-to-coast adventure that started in sunny Newport Beach, California. But it’s not just about the roar of the engines or the wind in the hair. This epic journey was all in the name of supporting the American Legion’s super-important “Be The One” campaign to combat veteran suicide. Because no hero should ever feel alone.
Our spirited team didn’t just zip through the states. Oh no, we made pit stops at eleven – yes eleven! – American Legion posts along the way. From the sun-kissed vibes of Newport Beach (Post 291) to the peaceful vibes of Bowling Green, Kentucky (Post 23), every stop was a chance to connect, share stories, and rally around our veterans.
Robert Hess, the “senior” veteran on the trip, the Rally4Vets Founder, and a Life American Legion member, described the trip this way: “We zoomed through the country, bonded with the veteran community, and soaked in America’s beauty. It was nothing short of epic! And the cherry on the top? Being able to support the American Legion’s ‘Be The One’ campaign.’
Now, let’s talk roadtrip highlights! We hiked our hearts out in the jaw-dropping landscapes of Sedona, Arizona. We time-traveled in Dodge City, Kansas, geeked out over trains in Durango, Colorado, got a little gangster at Bonnie and Clyde’s hideout in Joplin, Missouri, touched the clouds at Pikes Peak, and danced with the twists and turns of the legendary Tail of the Dragon.
The post-rally party didn’t end there, though! Keep your eyes peeled for our 2007 C6 Corvette at the 3rd Annual Top Dog Championships on October 1, 2023. Happening at Summit Point Motorsports Park, West Virginia. Sponsors and donors will have a chance to drive this car!
