The VA Health and Benefits App makes VA life easier.
Need to refill a prescription, message your care team, or check your benefits? You can do it all from your phone, anytime, anywhere.
Veterans love it. Check the Apple App Store, where it’s rated 4.8 out of 5. Many say they can’t imagine using VA services without it. It’s like having a mini VA office right in your pocket.
Reach your VA care team quickly
Tired of phone tag with your provider? With the app, you can send secure messages just like texting or using a social app.
Marine Corps Veteran Stephen Havard said, “I messaged my care team about a medication and got a response the same day.” You’re not alone—over 300,000 messages are sent through the app each month.
Remember: secure messaging is for non-urgent issues. If you’re in crisis, call 911 or 988 (then press 1), or head to the nearest emergency room. You can also access the Veteran Crisis Line directly within the app.
No more waiting in pharmacy lines
Refilling prescriptions is now as easy as ordering lunch. Pick your medication in the app, hit refill, and you’re done. Your meds will arrive by mail in 5–7 business days—no charge.
Marine Corps Veteran Luke Yanny even refilled his prescription from a deer blind. Over 250,000 prescriptions are refilled this way every month.
Check your claim status instantly
Want to see what’s happening with your claim or appeal? Just open the app for real-time updates. Navy Veteran Thomas Turman said, “The app lets you track your claim from your phone.” Veterans have checked their claims over 45 million times.
Keep appointments on track
The app helps you manage VA appointments and add them to your phone’s calendar with just a few taps. Marine Corps Veteran Deborah Hall says it’s made rescheduling and tracking appointments simple.
You can also share appointment details with a caregiver or family member.
Proof of military service made easy
Need to show your Veteran status for a discount? The app’s one-touch Proof of Veteran Status feature works like a digital ID. No paperwork needed.
Army National Guard Veteran Richard McMullen loves how fast and easy it is to use at stores.
